Red First Contact Polymer

Our Red Formula polymer is our "General Purpose" polymer used for most substrates and applications. Optical glass, Si, Ge, ZNSE, NaCl, KBr and many other substrates as well as nearly all coatings are compatible with the Red Formula. Speciality polymers for Plastics, Diamond Turned Metals, etc. have their own Shop Now pages so if you don't see your substrate formula listed under the Shop Now menu, Red Formula is probably the formula for you!

For better customer service and to aid finding products more easily we have separated our red and colorless polymers into their own categories. Please view our colorless formula kits and bulk bottles on the Colorless Polymer Formula page.

Red First Contact™ Polymer

Specially formulated to safely remove all contaminants from optical surfaces, First Contact is a proprietary blend of solvents designed to clean first surface mirrors, diffraction gratings, and diffractive optics to the molecular level. First Contact is low-adhesion, leaves no residue, and is carefully designed not to thermally shock or remove coatings – simply apply, dry, and peel to reveal an atomically clean, contaminant-free surface.

Shipping Restrictions
We can not ship to P.O. boxes. We must have a physical address in order to ship First Contact Polymers.

Coated Optics
Certain coatings have inherently poor adhesion, especially if manufactured without effective substrate preparation, particularly gold and silver coatings and replicated aluminum gratings. Always test on an inconspicuous or non-critical area first.
