Introduction
Photonic Cleaning Technologies contracted LIDARIS LIDT Service to perform laser damage threshold testing on substrates both before and after First Contact Polymer application and removal.
1 The test
The new substrates were verified as clean then LIDT measurements were completed. First Contact Polymer was then applied to the substrate, allowed to dry, then peeled. LIDT measurements were taken again at the same locations to determine if there was any contamination or residue remaining on the surface. Residue or contamination would be indicated by wide variations in the pre- and post-application data graphed below. There is no variation, thus no residue or increased laser induced damage potential. These results duplicate other LIDT testing against First Contact Polymer and available on our website.

2 Conclusion
First Contact Polymers do not leave residue and can clean a dirty laser optic to reinstate As New LIDT thresholds.
